Radical Remission: Thriving After Cancer

There is life beyond surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. I have survived thyroid and parathyroid cancer and a year later I put myself in radical remission in 6 months from multiple myeloma. No kidding. After much research I found a lot of ways to do it and I am going to share them all with you. I’m not suggesting that you tell your doctor to go jump in a lake or anything like that, but you can enhance your chances of beating a poor prognosis with certain alternative supplements, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and acupuncture. Holistic health at its best! More to come folks.

Alternative Supplements and Their Dosages

Exploring Natural Remedies for Cancer Prevention and Support

Introduction

Cancer is a complex and multifaceted disease that has led many individuals to seek alternative supplements for prevention and support. While these supplements should not replace conventional treatments, they may provide additional benefits. It is essential to discuss any new supplement with a healthcare provider before starting.

Anti-Cancer Alternative Supplements

1. Turmeric (Curcumin)

Dosage: 500-2,000 mg daily

Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, is known for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Studies have shown that curcumin can inhibit the growth of cancer cells and reduce the spread of tumors.

2. Green Tea Extract

Dosage: 300-400 mg daily

Green tea is rich in catechins, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which has been shown to induce apoptosis (cell death) in cancer cells and inhibit metastasis.

3. Resveratrol

Dosage: 150-500 mg daily

Resveratrol, found in grapes, berries, and red wine, has anti-cancer properties that include inhibiting cancer cell growth and inducing apoptosis.

4. Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Dosage: 1,000-2,000 mg daily

Omega-3 fatty acids, commonly found in fish oil, have anti-inflammatory properties and have been linked to a reduced risk of certain cancers.

5. Vitamin D

Dosage: 1,000-5,000 IU daily

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in cell growth regulation and may help prevent the development and progression of some cancers.

6. Selenium

Dosage: 200 mcg daily

Selenium is a trace mineral that has been shown to protect against cancer by reducing oxidative stress and enhancing the immune response.

7. Quercetin

Dosage: 500-1,000 mg daily

Quercetin is a flavonoid with strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, which can help inhibit cancer cell growth and proliferation.

8. Milk Thistle (Silymarin)

Dosage: 200-400 mg daily

Silymarin, the active compound in milk thistle, has antioxidant properties and can protect liver cells from damage, potentially reducing the risk of liver cancer.

9. Mushroom Extracts (Reishi, Shiitake, Maitake)

Dosage: 1,000-3,000 mg daily

Mushroom extracts contain bioactive compounds that can enhance the immune system, inhibit tumor growth, and induce cancer cell apoptosis.

10. Lycopene

Dosage: 10-30 mg daily

Lycopene, found in tomatoes and other red fruits, is a powerful antioxidant that has been associated with a reduced risk of certain cancers, particularly prostate cancer.

11. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

Dosage: 100-300 mg daily

CoQ10 is an antioxidant that supports cellular energy production and has been shown to enhance the immune system’s ability to fight cancer cells.

12. Boswellia Serrata (Frankincense)

Dosage: 300-500 mg daily

Boswellia contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can inhibit cancer cell growth and induce apoptosis.

13. Garlic

Dosage: 600-1,200 mg daily (aged garlic extract)

Garlic has been shown to have anti-cancer properties due to its sulfur compounds, which can inhibit cancer cell growth and induce apoptosis.

14. Ashwagandha

Dosage: 300-500 mg daily

Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb that has been shown to reduce stress, enhance the immune system, and inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

15. Ginseng

Dosage: 200-400 mg daily

Ginseng has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can help prevent cancer cell growth and improve overall immune function.

Conclusion

While alternative supplements can offer additional support in the prevention and management of cancer, they should not replace conventional treatments. It is crucial to consult with a healthcare provider before incorporating any new supplements into your regimen. By combining these natural remedies with traditional medical approaches, individuals may enhance their overall well-being and support their body’s ability to combat cancer.

Friday, January 24th, I had an EMG test (electromyelograph) to see if my arm and shoulder paralysis after cervical (neck) spinal fusion was temporary or permanent. Well, it was permanent. I have been doing home physical and occupational therapy every day like crazy because I thought it would get better. Now I am kind of depressed and quit working so hard since it wont change my condition.

Today, January 28th, I go in for a cat scan of my chest with contrast to evaluate a lump in my upper right lung. They found it 6 months ago and want to see if it has grown. I was told after the thyroid cancer that there was only a 10% chance of it metastasizing to the bones, kidneys or lungs. My doctor said that the lung was difficult to biopsy so they want to avoid that if possible. I am going to get really aggressive on anti-cancer supplements and Chinese herbal medicine if the lump has grown. I already spend more money on that than food. It seems like I am always an outlier or on the fringe of normal.

Great news. I got my lung cat scan back and the lump in my upper right lung was gone! More great news. My hem/onc doctor at the regional cancer center told me my multiple myeloma blood labs look good enough. I don’t have to do them more than every three months. I also see him only every six months! I guess that I should tell you what my personal anti-cancer protocol is. I feel comfortable sharing it with you now that I am more sure that it has worked.

This is the first time I have blogged. I don’t know how to set up affiliate marketing. I would like to earn a little money if you buy the books or products I use. However, it’s more important that you have the info now. You might be on a tight budget like me and my family. In that case, you might have to stagger your monthly purchases. My husband and I don’t have a car. I am basically home-bound, except for medical appointments that I go to by Paratransit van. So I shop online A LOT. Amazon and Walmart keep us mostly supplied, but you may find stuff cheaper elsewhere. Please do your own research. Let me know if you get better deals or quality elsewhere. You can email me at jcjoyalwriter@gmail.com. Then I can share what you find with other people.

I actually enjoy researching and writing about health topics because I was working in healthcare for over 30 years. I retired last year and am back in school getting my MBA specializing in Health Services Admin online at Chico State in California. I guess I am a life long learner. I will probably keep blogging so if you want to know something email me your question.

Main anti-cancer books I used:

  1. Prescription for Nutritional Healing 6th Edition 2023 by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC . Well, I started with the 5th Edition from 2010, but I got the new one. It really is “A Practical A-to-Z Reference to Drug-Free Remedies Using Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs, & Food Supplements”. It’s huge and heavy. Cancers are pp 293-313. The supplements list is on pp. 303-304. This is the first and best health reference book to have in your home for any health problem big or small. Get it on Amazon for $22.49 + tax.
  2. Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against All Odds 2014 by Kelly A. Turner Ph.D. The Holy Grail for increasing your chance of a cure. She researched nine key factors in 1000+ cases of radical remission.
  3. How to Starve Cancer…and Then Kill It with Ferroptosis 2nd Edition 2021 by Jane McLelland. She is a former healthcare worker who beat Stage IV cancer with metastases that will give you a complete education about the nature of your specific cancer and the specific drugs/supplements cocktail to survive it well. Tough, but necessary read if you have any stage of cancer.

After you read the above books you will know what you need to do to win your own war on cancer. Cancer loves sugar. My husband and I are already diabetics, but not on insulin. So we eat a diabetic Mediterranean diet. Being more of a baker than a cook, I got several cookbooks for diabetics. They either required too much prep or too many ingredients or I was too dumb to do the Diabetic Cookbook for Dummies! I finally found success with the cookbook Super Easy Diabetic Diet After 50 by Anna C. Mitchell on Amazon for $16.99. Way better than mac n cheese and hot dogs! My family actually likes my cooking now and our blood sugar doesn’t spike over 140.

It is critical to do some form of light aerobic exercise (like HIIT or walking) after each meal for 15-30 minutes. Make it enjoyful and fun. Do not do strenuous exercise though.

I drink 4 ounces of yummy Lifeways probiotic kefir a day (Walmart 32 oz for 3.84) and use Stevia in the Raw natural sweetener (Walmart 100 packets for $5.52). You can use it cold, hot, or cook with it. It measures the same as cane sugar (Walmart 9.7 oz package for $7.58)

Doing intermittent fasting is important to starve out those nasty little cancer cells. You can Google intermittent fasting and find out that there are several ways to do it based on what fits your lifestyle.

Intermittent fasting involves limiting your food intake or eating within a specific time window. Some ways to do intermittent fasting include:

  • Alternate day fasting: Eat normally one day, then fast or eat a small meal the next day.
  • Eat-stop-eat: Fast for 1–2 days a week, eating no food for 24 hours at a time.
  • 5:2 fasting: Eat normally five days a week, and limit yourself to one small meal on the other two days.
  • Time-restricted eating: Eat normally within a specific time window each day, such as 8 hours.
  • Overnight fasting: Fast for 12 hours every day, such as stopping eating after dinner and resuming eating at breakfast.
  • Meal skipping: Skip 1–2 meals occasionally, based on your hunger or time constraints.

Some say that alternate day fasting can be one of the most effective methods for weight loss, blood sugar control, and blood pressure reduction. It starves out cancer too!

I eat portion controlled meals and snacks between 8:00am and 5:00pm and just drink spring water with a dash of baking soda in it to make it slightly a alkaline pH from 5:00pm to 8:00am. Cancer hates not having an acidic environment. If I feel hungry, I just add some sugar free psyllium husk for fiber (Walmart 48 servings for $8.98) to the water. NEVER drink tap water. Spring water or distilled water only.

I got my primary care doctor to give me Propranolol ER 60 mg a day for high blood pressure/cancer care and  I was already on metformin ER at 1000mg/day as a diabetic. It also has strong anti-cancer and anti-aging properties. The rest of my anti-cancer care is all about supplements. I put together my own stack based on the books I showed you in my last post and the Tippens protocol. I will tell you all about that in my next post.

Now to the Tippens Method named after an older man named Joe Tippens with Stage IV lung cancer with metastases in 2016. He put himself in complete remission after $2 million in Western medicine stuff and then was told to just go home and die. He is still going strong and helps others for free, despite his fame, through his website “mycancerstoryrocks” and blog Get Busy Living. Basically, it’s a dog dewormer, fenbendazole at 222 mg per day in the U.S. or menbendazole a childern’s dewormer in the U.K., Milk Thistle at 300 mg per day and CBD oil 25 mg without THC at bedtime. Check out Jane McClelland’s book for what else to add for any cancer and what to add for your specific type of cancer. For me. having multiple myeloma and for others with cancers of the blood like leukemias, we have to add more supplements. It does work though. You win the war against cancer without the nasty side effects of chemotherapy or radiation burns.

Fenbendazole at Amazon.com – SanareLabsb 222 mg $34.99 /or 444mg $39.99

Milk Thistle at Amazon.com – Carlyle 2000mg $9.99

CBD oil without THC at CBD Market online -Bluebird Botanicals $34,97 + shipping = $42.00
